  • star rating  Rob & Vicky are the consummate hosts, nothing is too much trouble, the food is up there with the best restaurants and it’s position just outside Samoen is perfect.
The chalet, built by Rob & Vicky is of a high quality hotel standard and has views to die for and don’t get me started about the hot tub and sauna
This, without doubt the best chalet I have stayed in.

star rating  Fabulous stay at Chalet Apassion - This chalet is absolutely stunning, the rooms are decorated to a very high standard, beds are super comfy and the lounge and dining room area have superb views over the mountains. The fire is lit every night, candles dotted around the place providing a very calming environment. Food cooked by Jess is amazing and afternoon cakes baked by Vicky were a welcoming treat when arriving back from the slopes, cakes were delicious. We also enjoyed the hot tub and sauna, this chalet is proper luxury, by far the best we have ever stayed in, so many lovely touches with complimentary mini chocolate bars, tissues and lip salve at the front door, water bottles beside your bed and white company toiletries. A special mention to Rob who chauffeured us every morning to the slopes. We had a few issues including a problem with our transfer, I took the wrong bag at the airport and also got my skis taken from outside a restaurant mid week, no idea what I would have done without Robs help and patience, nothing was too much trouble and he always had a smile on his face, So So grateful for all his help. If you are checking this chalet out, just book it, you will not be disappointed. We were lucky enough to have a full week of sun, Grand Massif is a great ski area, it suits all levels of ability. Hope to return one day.

star rating  A cut above your normal ski chalet - We have had a wonderful week at Chalet Apassion. Nothing was too much trouble for Rob and Vicky (they even sourced local beer for one of our party who didn’t drink wine). Beautiful evening meals, and extremely comfortable rooms. It was lovely to relax in the hot tub at the end of a days skiing. Rob provides an excellent shuttle service to the lifts at the start and end of each day.
This is very definitely a cut above the normal ski chalet, and was a much needed break for all of us.
I would have no hesitation recommending this chalet.

star rating  Wonderful chalet, wonderful service - Just back from a week at Chalet Apassion. The chalet is spacious and beautifully set up, with wonderful views over the Samoëns valley and ideally placed to reach the two gondolas up to Samoens 1600 and the village. The food was great too, and the wine far more drinkable than a lot of ski chalet plonk.

But the most impressive thing was the friendly welcome and “nothing too much trouble” service from both Rob & Vicky, whether offering Rob lifts from the gondolas or into the village when needed, or Vicky catering for multiple special dietary needs - or just tastes.

If we return to Samoens, we won’t hesitate to book here again.

star rating  Perfect setting for an impeccably-catered active holiday - Wholeheartedly recommend Chalet Apassion as a relaxing base for a skiing or cycling trip. Hosts and owners, Rob and Vicky's attention to detail for the duration of the trip was impeccable. They were on hand to help out with everything they could prior to our party’s arrival to our return home and were very knowledgable about the area and the many outdoor pursuits on offer.
The chalet was extremely comfortable, beautifully presented and includes a sauna and hot-tub. Waking up to stunning views across the valley and the scent of a hearty breakfast being prepared meant we were all up early, enthused about making first tracks on the fresh powder every morning.
For skiing, Chalet Apassion was conveniently located close to ski lifts. Vicky Kindly dropped us off and collected us with our skis and served us a welcome afternoon tea of home baking on our return.
Picking a highlight of all Chalet Apassion offered is hard, but the catering deserves a special mention. The meals were all top notch and carefully thought out. In creating meals for their guests, Vicky and Rob considerately took into account dietary requirements and likes and dislikes made known to them on booking and the results were all delicious. Every meal outdid the last. Thank you Rob and Vicky!

star rating  Top notch Ski chalet  - Rob and Vicky have created a rare combination of a relaxed atmosphere coupled with attentiveness and attention to detail at the 5* chalet Apassion. Rooms and decor are elegant and inviting, spotlessly clean and tidy. The setting and views excellent with hot tub overlooking the valley and mountains. Food is top notch and the whole chalet thing works a treat with relaxed and attentive apres ski. Rob and Vicky take the hassles away with airport transfers and taking and taking and collecting you from the ski lifts whenever you want. Nothing is to much trouble and they are great company too. There’s plenty of Skiing options in the grand massif ski area which includes Flaine and fine views of Mont Blanc. Good lunchtime stops with plenty of variety. Enjoy!

star rating  APASSION has set the standard high for yoga and chalet retreats - Booking Chalet APASSION is the best thing I have done for myself for a long time!

My trip started well when I was greeted by the host, Rob at Geneva airport. Who was there to drive myself and a few of the other yogis to the retreat. The transfer drive was lovely, getting to know the other retreat residents and taking in the Swiss/ French scenery. Once we arrived at the chalet I was bowled over how wonderful the accommodation was.

The chalet is extremely cosy, it's not lacking space at all but the homely feeling the Rob and Vicky have created. As expected the facilities are excellent, everything is a high standard.

I stayed in a shared room to the back of the chalet. I shared with Delphine, who I met at the retreat. Sharing with someone I just met was my main concern for the trip but it really wasn't anything to worry about. Delphine was lovely and the room is a great size for two people sharing. The luxury en suite was huge with a full sized bath. The towels and toiletries from the White Company are a nice touch too.

There's a lovely lounge outside the room I stayed in. Very handy to do some reading in or just off the lounge is the balcony where you can enjoy the stunning views.

The ground floor is super spacious with 3 large sofas, fireplace, the kitchen and the dining table where breakfast and dinner are served. The food is glorious!! Vicky is a star in the kitchen. All bases are covered in the morning for food. There's a section of homemade cereals, another option which changes daily, we had breakfast pots one day and a delicious muffin another. We were also offered an egg option. Snacks, fruit and drinks are provided throughout the day.

Yoga is twice a day with Tess. The morning practice is at 8am followed by the second at 5pm. The sessions take place on the decking outside the chalet. This offers superb, peaceful, views of the Samoëns. The yoga is a fusion of vinyasa flow yoga and tai chi.

After practice dinner is a two course meal served with a wonderful selection of wines. Vicky explains each dish wonderfully and Rob is on hand with the wines!

Then the evening is yours to do as you please. I recommend some down time in the Jacuzzi, sauna or a long soak in the bath. Either way you will be totally refreshed and ready to relax.

Would love to keep APASSION a secret but Rob, Vicky and Tess should be congratulated on their hard work and their wonderful place should be shared rated 5 stars on every reviewing platform.

  • star rating  Brilliant Chalet with lovely hosts - Brilliant Chalet, travelled end of January as a party of 4 and joined other guests who booked before us. Had a great time, Very comfortable luxurious chalet with amazing views over Samoen. Rob and Vicky are lovely, could not be more helpful and organised everything we needed. Food and wine were excellent, Proper quality beds and sheets, very comfy, Bathrooms, sauna and hot tub were all great. Rob would drop us at the lifts in the morning and collect us from whichever run/village/bar we ended up in, just a phone call away - like having our own chauffeur! Would definitely recommend and we will certainly go again, maybe in the summer.

star rating  So good we went back again - We visited Chalet Apassion a couple of years ago, we said at the time that we should go back, so we did. Rob & Vicky (the owners) we still the perfect hosts, attentive, but not in your face. The Chalet looks even better than I remembered it.

Rob even managed to find some time to show me their new chalet (Allure) that is self catering, this is also upto the same high standards...

There were 6 other guests staying, but we never felt "outside" of it...

I would 100% recommend & hopefully return again

star rating  Very rare to find a place that is better than home! - An odd title to start your review with but when you stay somewhere that you don't want to leave a review in case it gets booked up and you can't get in on your favourite weeks, you know that you have found the perfect place to stay. Hence the reason for not having left reviews before ....................... we wanted to keep it all to ourselves ........ selfish I know.

We have stayed with Rob and Vicky now for 3/4 years for skiing trips and last year we stayed in their second chalet Allure during the summer. Both chalets exude quality in every possible way, the bedding, toiletries, furnishings, fittings and location.

Chalet Apassion is their flagship chalet and based a little way from the lift (two minutes by minibus) but don't let this put you off .......... it has the advantage of being dropped at any lift of your choice in the morning and then at the end of the day you can ski back down into any lift of your choice, be it GME, Vercland, Morillion and still being whisked back to the chalet without having to lift a finger. This can be helpful if you find yourself in the wrong place at the end off the day, you run out of steam to get back to the main lift or like us you want to take advantage of the numerous bars at various lifts!

Chalet Allure has the advantage of literally being a two minutes walk from the Vercland lift, or you can ski right back to the lift on a red or black, snow permitting, another advantage is the Repossette Bar, a perfect end to the day. If the snow is plentiful you can ski back to the door through the car park!!

Either chalet you choose, you get a first class service, you get picked up at the airport, skis and boots can be organised in the chalet (no jostling for position at the ski sales shops in the village)by Remi has a fantastic range to choose from and all done in the chalet.

The food is exceptional, as is the wine (chosen and perfectly poured by Rob) and the cakes in the afternoon are to die for ...... do not get back on the scales at the end of the week .......... bad idea.

The rooms are immaculate and kept that way all week, nothing is left unnoticed by Vicky's eagle eye! Change of towels midweek and toiletries topped up as needed (white company ........... luxury again) How she manages to get the beds so smooth remains a serious mystery to me ...... swear she smooths them with an iron ............ so fab to get into lovely smooth beds at night.

So what more can I say, don't hesitate, just book it and I can guarantee that you will stay with them again and again. Perfect chalet, perfect hosts and the most wonderful holiday that you could ever wish for.

star rating  Passion for APassion - Thanks to Rob and Vicky for an exceptional stay at this wonderful boutique chalet with the most glorious views and brilliant hosts. Rob and Vicky could not be more helpful or attentive. Do try Vicky's stunning cooking and also one of the best breakfasts in France - proper bacon and eggs! The couple have created a bit of paradise above Samoens, a fantastic place to be based to take in this stunning part of the country. In the hot tub, overlooking the mountains, with a glass in hand, there's nothing better!

star rating  Wonderful place and people - We have just spent 3 great days with Rob and Vicky at Chalet Apassion. The accommodation is great and the views are unbeleivably wonderful. As is the hospitality shown by Rob and Vicky. They were just so helpful and charming. The meal we had there was also extremely good in the most sublime setting. We really recommend this place very highly.

star rating  Highly recommended - We have spent 2 long weekend breaks at Chalet Apassion and Chalet Allure this season and can honestly say that both chalets are luxurious, with impeccable service and top class food. Rob and Vicky were incredibly welcoming and friendly alongside all the other staff. We thoroughly enjoyed both stays and would have no hesitation recommending either chalet for couples, groups or families who want that little bit extra from a chalet ski break.

star rating  Wonderful Hospitality - We spent a week here in early January and found the chalet and it's facilities to be first class. I always judge a place by how well I sleep and the quality of the beds and bedding ensured I slept very well. Relaxing in the hot tub under the stars after a full day skiing was just what my old body needed. This was always followed by canapés, wonderful meals and delicious wine, which I'm sure helped with the sleep too! Rob and Vicky as hosts couldn't have been better, they made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. I would thoroughly recommend this as a base for skiing in the Grand Massif mountains.
