A Visit to the Carpenters
We recently organised a visit to the factory of Chalets Carme, where Pascal and his team are building the timber elements of our new chalet, Chalet ALLURE. Whilst we thought the purpose of our trip was to make decisions on the interior finishes we couldn’t believe our luck when we arrived to see the wood for our chalet sitting on the trailer outside the sawmill waiting to be cut! They were in the process of preparing the main structural beams for the chalet and handcrafting the individual window frames and shutters.
It was truly fascinating to have the opportunity to watch the craftsmen at work! Once complete and on-site in June it will take 3 men just 4 days to erect the entire timber frame, with each piece of wood arriving pre-cut and numbered. The whole structure slots together like a huge jigsaw puzzle!
