Samoëns in Winter

Samoëns is part of the Grand Massif, one of the world’s biggest ski areas.  With the five connected alpine resorts of Flaine, Morillon, Samoëns, Sixt Fer-a-Cheval and Les Carroz, this is the fourth biggest ski area in France. The region rises to 2600 metres with 265km of piste served by 67 lifts. There are ski runs to challenge all ability levels with 23 green, 60 blue, 47 red and 12 black runs.  Click here to download a piste map for Samoëns and the Grand Massif ski region

For those seeking an added adrenaline rush, then why not try out one of the great snowboarding parks in the area or get competitive with a run down the boarder-cross track.

If you like to get off the piste, the Grand Massif ski domain provides plenty of opportunity to test your skills.  To get the best of the ‘back country’ experience, we recommend taking a guide from one of the local ski schools in Samoëns.

If your preference is cross-country skiing (Ski de Fond), or you would like to give it a go during your stay, then Samoëns offers 46kms of cross country skiing tracks in the valley with a further 30km to be discovered at altitude.

The resort also caters for snowshoe trekking, paragliding, fat-biking and even has an ice-skating rink located right in the centre of the village.
